surface preparation
There are many ways to prepare a floor for material application. Trust EDC to select the technique that's right for your floor.
Shot Blasting
Shot blasting is used when a surface must be deeply abraded to allow for adhesion of epoxies and overlays and adhesives. This process is extremely effective when the existing surface is highly contaminated and a "deeper" clean is needed.
Different levels of blast pattern can be achieved as needed. This is ideal for prepping for stamped overlays and thicker epoxies.
Grinding
Grinding is used when a surface is being prepared for material that needs to be a bit more consistent and level as this is less aggressive and creates a more uniform surface. This is ideal for thin mil overlays and thin mil epoxies; this also creates a great surface for VCT's and other standard floor applications.
Milling
Milling is used when large quantities of materials need to be removed (up to 2 inches) to prepare for repours and self-levelers.
Great application when maintaining floor grade is important. You can be confident that EDC will expertly prepare your flooring surface.
